UP22: NOW OPEN FOR ENTRIES
Entries are now open for the 2022 edition of the international open call UNPUBLISHED PHOTO. The contest is promoted by the Fondazione culture e musei and MUSEC Lugano, in collaboration with the 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery in Milan and the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti in Venice.
Young photographers born between 1986 and 2004 have the chance until 10th April 2022 to submit their portfolios.
Since 2018, the project attracts young photographers under 36 from all over the world. As a promoter of the initiative, this year MUSEC is once again offering the finalists the opportunity to exhibit their work in a temporary exhibition – Unpublished Photo 2022 – set up in the Spazio Maraini at Villa Malpensata (Lugano, Switzerland) from October 20, 2022 to February 12, 2023.
A specially constituted Selection Committee made up of leading figures from the world of art and photography will select four finalists from the international photography scene.
The UP22 Award will assign the first prizewinner a grant of CHF 2.000, 1,500 swiss francs to the second prizewinner and 1,000 swiss francs each to the third and fourth finalists.
Moreover, the De Pietri Artphilein Foundation – a non-profit organisation that supports culture and contemporary art with a variety of activities and initiatives, in particular highlighting the works of young artists – is a partner of the UP22 project and will publish a limited edition artist’s book dedicated to the work of one of the finalist photographers.
